The Timetable
PE will be on Monday and Thursday. Please ensure that your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days. Any earrings will need to be removed or covered with micropore medical tape during PE lessons.
Homework
Children are encouraged to complete regular home learning activities that support essential skills such as reading, spelling, grammar and number fluency. These activities are designed to be short, manageable and repeated regularly across the week. Children are encouraged to read their school reading book frequently and record this in their reading record, as regular reading supports fluency, comprehension and confidence; star readers are celebrated with class Dojos. Pupils should also regularly practise their times tables using Times Table Rock Stars, focusing on the 2s, 3s, 4s and 8s, as secure times table knowledge supports success across the maths curriculum. Grammar skills are practised through Rollama, using games to develop understanding of grammar and spelling, which support sentence structure and writing development. Weekly spelling words are given out on a Monday and should be practised across the week, focusing on spelling patterns and accurate application in writing.
