We provide a broad and balanced RE curriculum which follows the Kent agreed syllabus. The major religions of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism and Sikhism are studied during the time that our pupils are at our school and we promote a respect for all faiths and beliefs of individuals within our school, as well as in our own country and the wider world.
Our curriculum ensures that children develop an understanding of the fundamental values by which people live.
Our daily assemblies and collective worship provide our children with a variety of opportunities to deepen this thinking further, to explore the core spiritual values and to celebrate the diversity of a range of religions, cultures and faiths. We also make strong links between the understanding of values and spirituality with our PSHCE curriculum and many assemblies are based on the SEAL programme.
We are a community school but we have strong links with the local Church of England church and therefore when we are celebrating Christian festivals such as Christmas and Easter, or exploring aspects of the Christian faith, we will often make use of this local and valuable resource.
