Our Intra-School Challenges continued on Red Nose Day as the children worked in their teams and danced to some of their favourite songs in the hall.
It was great to see our oldest children putting in as much effort as our youngest but there could only be one winning team! Leeds were clear winners in the dance off, with their house captains showing great moves and being great role models for the rest of the school.
Congratulations Leeds House who danced their socks off and earned themselves an ice lolly each!
Last week our Year 3 & 4 children were all invited to take part in an Olympic Roadshow delivered by sports coaches who are experts in their fields. The Children were split into 4 groups and taught skills in 4 different sports to give them a taste of sporting success and encourage them to take part in sport outside of school. The four sports included dance, football, basketball and cricket.
The children had great fun and behaved brilliantly throughout the afternoon. Hopefully they have been inspired to carry on with these sports outside of school!

As part of the Shepway Sports Trust Package we have bought into, we are lucky enough to experience different sports which are delivered to our children by experts, providing children with opportunities to gain a taste of sports outside of what we may usually offer in school.
This week our YR, 1, 2 & 3 children took part in dance and fitness sessions with a dance instructor. The children danced to may different genres of music and were encouraged to learn new moves as well as show off their own freestyle moves.

Check out all the fantastic sport our children have been taking part in recently in the Winter edition of the Shepway Schools Newsletter - Amazing!
Well done everyone!
Last week we started the first of our whole-school sport challenges. The children were given the challenge of scoring as many baskets in 1 minute with the support and encouragement of their house captains and house team mates.
The house captains showed great leadership skills throughout the afternoon, running the competition, modelling the task, feeding the basketballs and collecting the scores for each child.
The challenge was a great success with every child in the school completing the task, cheering on their team mates and receiving a certificate with their personal score.

Both the Elite & the Development teams took 3rd place in the league out of 10 teams and showed excellent sportsmanship yet again throughout the tournament. The boys and girls worked extremely hard to develop their basketball & teamwork skills and made us proud.
This was a great opportunity for the children to be invited to a festival with an excellent atmosphere and local club coaches helping the children to develop their skills in between games.
Well done to Max C, Andy, Rhys, Harry, Ellie, Macey, Faye, Ben, Max F, Billy, Blakeney, Tom, Connie, Megan & Amelia for your commitment!
