This week we took our Year 5/6 boys football team to compete in the Folkestone indoor football league at the Three Hills Sports Park. The boys played exceptionally well on a very small pitch and managed to win 4 games, draw 2 and lose just 1 game! Our fantastic team will play the remaining 7 teams next week which will determine their final position in the league.

Last Thursday it was the first chance for our Year 5 & 6 children to compete in sport for this academic year.

We travelled to Brockhill to take part in a cross country competition against several other Shepway schools. The boys and girls competed against other pupils from the same year group and ran a whopping 1.6km around Brockhill's fields.

The children all performed brilliantly and our Year 5 boys took 2nd, 3rd and 5th place which put them in 1st place overall!

Well done to all of our children who ran their socks (or shoes in some case) off!

Last week we took some of our youngest children to compete in a Year 1 & 2 Multi Skills competition at the Marsh Academy.

The children took part in 10 different challenges which tested their speed, power, agility, balance and co-ordination. They had to work together as a team to earn the most points for each station.

Our children worked incredibly hard and showed great enthusiasm throughout the competition, resulting in 2nd Place out of 7 schools!

A few weeks ago, our Year 2 team won the 'Infant Agility Shepway Qualifiers', beating 16 other teams and claiming a well earned 1st Place. This meant that we qualified for the Kent Infant Agility Finals at the Kent School Games 2015 (A level 3 competition). The children represented Shepway District as well as representing Dymchurch Primary, taking part in several agility, speed, strength and balance activities throughout the morning.

The children worked very hard and had a superb morning, showing determination and respect throughout the competition.

We even got a go on an enormous bouncy agility/ assault style course inside of the Three Hills Sports Park.

Well done to Emma, Jasmine, Halime, Ruby, Sophie, Joshua, Daniel, Louis, Harrison & Declan!

This week is National Sport Week and to celebrate, we are taking part in lots of different sporting activities & competitions over the next week.

Year 1 and 2 were put into 6 teams and competed in lots of different athletics/ skills based events throughout the afternoon with a goal of running the quickest time or gaining the most points!

Year 6 were our 'Playmakers' and ran the whole afternoon for KS1, showing us what excellent role models they have become.

Each team was named after a popular disney or film character such as 'Baymax', 'Spongebob', 'Olaf', 'Minions' etc to give the teams an identity for the afternoon.

Well done to all of the children for taking part and trying your best!

Today (4th June) we took two teams of children from Year 4, 5 & 6 to Folkestone Three Hills Sports Centre to compete in the hockey leagues run by Shepway Sports Trust. The teams played 5 games each and had to work very hard as a team to move quickly with the ball and score inside the D.

Each team practiced their skills inbetween each match and definitely improved by the end of the tournament!

Our teams finished in a very well-earned 2nd and 5th place!
