Today we were extremely lucky to have a chef come in from 'Roots to Food'. The children had the opportunity to work in teams to create a dish from healthy ingredients. Throughout this session the children participated in a variety of cooking methods. For example, cutting/chopping, mixing, squeezing, stir frying and steaming. They also had the chance to discuss the different ingredients on offer and how these related to the different food groups. From this they then discussed the importance of these food groups for a healthy, balanced diet. Here are some pictures:
